Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) enables contactless data exchange between a reader and a tag, such as a chip or card. When within range, the reader sends a request and tag responds with its stored information.

RFID is widely used in manufacturing with MES software. RFID tags allow operators to log into terminals quickly, avoiding time-consuming manual entry of usernames and passwords.
