OOE

OOE stands for Overall Operating Efficiency, a formula used to calculate operational efficiency. It measures the availability of factory operations from the start to the end of the production process. OOE helps manufacturers understand their operational performance and identify areas for improvement.

How to calculate OOE

OOE = PERFORMANCE × AVAILABILITY × QUALITY

• Performance (%) = percentage of total possible output, influenced by speed since not all products can be produced at the same rate

• Availability (%) = percentage of total available operating time

• Quality (%) = percentage of good products that meet quality standards

The result is expressed as a percentage. A well-managed factory typically achieves a score around 85%.
